Fabio Scarpello is a journalist and political analyst based in Indonesia, from where he also covers the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Timor Leste, thanks to frequent trips and an extensive network of stringers.

Born in Italy in 1970, Fabio moved to Southeast Asia in 2003 and has since developed an excellent relationship with some of the region's most important politicians, academics, religious leaders and activists.

Fabio's writings focus mostly on politics, religious conflict, internal conflict and terrorism.

He is currently the Southeast Asia Correspondent for the Italy-based, international press agency AdnKronos International.

Moreover, he is the correspondent in Indonesia for the South China Morning Post, one of Asia's leading broadsheets, and he comments on Southeast Asian current affairs in a weekly radio program at Australia's Special Broadcasting Services.
